Sulphuric Acid purification by Filtrex Horizontal Leaf Filter.
Sulphuric Acid is commonly used in most chemical manufacturing plant. The purity of the sulphur comes from the raw material of Molten sulphur. Ash is an impurity, which needs to be removed from sulphur.
A common/ traditional method is used to separate these impurities, which is compartment settling. This method does not particles smaller than 1000 PPM.

CASE STUDY
A Fertilizer based in Nigeria was burning sulphur at 1,000 Metric Ton per day. 355 MTPD sulphur was burned every day. Approximately 50 Kg of solid Ash was entering in the plant causing frequent shut-down.
Here, Jacketed Horizontal leaf filter was introduced for Molten sulphur filtration.
